I honestly wasn't thrilled with the merlot color as pictured on the product page--it had that too bright look of cheap leather to me--but I decided to take a chance at the heavily discounted price and I'm so glad that I did! In person, it's a much deeper and more luxurious looking shade of burgundy, plus--speaking as a Kindle user since the first generation--this is the best and highest-quality Kindle case that I've ever had. The Amazon designers really crushed it. An absolutely minimal plastic shell wrapped in quality leather that feels great in the hand redefines the expression, "fits like a glove." It adds so little to the size and weight of the Kindle Oasis form factor, it's almost like your Oasis was merely dipped in leather. The case fully retains and even enhances the great ergonomics of the Oasis design, remaining totally comfortable to hold while reading when the cover is folded back.I'm also thrilled with the secure magnetic closure on the cover, so I know my screen will stay protected when my Oasis is tossed in a bag, and I love the convenience of it waking when the cover is opened. All in all, this is a 10/10 product and an easy 5-star recommendation, especially at what I assume is a likely close out discounted price on these covers.
