The jacket is authentic; however, it is the oldest version with the short arms. If you are northface savvy, you will know what I'm talking about. This is our 3rd NF replacement child medium-- both previous purchases from the NF store (our first was short arms, second was newer version with longer arms, this is like the first). Outer packaging smelled like a burnt tires and motor oil, but jacket inside was fine.
