I have never used decals before, I usually just go for a protective case that encloses all. But my new kindle paperwhite's case exposes quite a bit of the front of the kindle with no protection from scratches, so I bought a decal anyway. So I only needed the front part, but I used the entire thing anyway. I put the back on first for "practice". And it looks great! I had no problems with it. I used a hard rubber queue gee card that tends to come with the more expensive screen protectors to smooth out air bubbles And it worked like a charm on this brand of decal. I cannot attest to other brands applying quite so well or not as this is my first. I then put on the front. It was a little more challenging as I had to figure out how to align it evenly, but even this step was fairly pain free. My kindle is now officially "cute".
